The tasting presentation will be a tasting of the best ARLANZA wines from the most hidden vineyards in Spain. Smallholding, family viticulture, romantic viticulture will be the focus of the exhibition. Native varieties in the process of recovery along with ancestral elaborations will be the subject of tasting in this activity. Vineyards at more than 1000 meters above sea level along with a continental climate of Atlantic influence will be the unmistakable protagonists of the personality of the wines to be tasted in this activity. White wines, red wines and surprising rosés will be tasted and commented on by attendees.

Greenhouse gas emissions,known as the carbon footprint, are a major cause of climate change and the wine industry is working to reduce them. One of the main difficulties is calculating exactly what this carbon footprint is. We will analyze the tools available in the sector and also what measures can help reduce it.

According to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, the transport sector represents 25% of total greenhouse gas emissions in Spain. By transport mode, the road represents almost 95% of emissions. Faced with this reality, the European Union has launched a package of measures to decarbonize the economy. These measures involve changing the way we transport our products. This round table aims to address the solutions that can be adopted to improve sustainable mobility in the wine and cava sector.

Many consumers look for wines with lower alcohol content. At the same time, some administrations are calling for stricter regulations to control alcohol in wine. At the same time, wineries are investigating ways to offer a product with a much lower alcohol content or even without alcohol, but maintaining quality and characteristics. We will learn about practical cases and reflect on new trends.

In 2023, the VIDA PNDS collective was created, a group of young projects, composed of winegrowers and winemakers from the Penedès. With the moderation of Caram Caram, two entrepreneurs from the Penedès dedicated to popularize the world of wine and gastronomy, we will expose and debate the diversity of the collective, with different realities of 5 different producers. There will also be a presentation of the new members of VIDA and we will explain the events planned for the month of April.

During this round table, the fundamental role played by R&D&I in the wine sector will be presented, as well as the services that the Wine Technology Platform makes available to the industry to promote collaborative innovation.

The United States is the world's leading consumer of wine and for that, it is a very attractive country as an export destination for Spanish wineries. It is also a very large market, with many particularities and with great differences depending on each area. It is also a destination with a high bureaucratic burden for the import of wine. Sector experts will analyze the specificities of this large market and the administrative process to reach it.

The wine sector is already fully aware of the impact of climate change, because it is already feeling the consequences. Therefore, it is increasingly necessary that the whole process of winemaking is sustainable and respectful of the environment.  

In this event we will detail in a practical way what most affects the sustainability of wineries, as determined by the European project ECOPROWINE.

We also have to be able to measure that sustainability and communicate those improvement actions to our customers, and that is what sustainability seals such as ECOPROWINE from the CIRCE Technological Center.

The wineries will tell us about their experience, and how it has helped them in their exports.

A dialogue between renowned Spanish sommeliers and winemakers with a track record of international success, on the importance of highlighting the excellence of Spanish wines as a lever for increasing exports and as one of the keys to the future. The new Wines from Spain awards, launched this year by ICEX, were created with the aim of vindicating the quality and commitment to the territory of the Wines of Spain.

Wine tasting from the 15 producers integrated in the group called Parajes y Majuelos, with wineries located in different spanish regions with the common idea of respect to the traditional training systems and indigenous grapes and winemakings that show the places where the wines are coming from. Each cellar will present a wine considered by them as a reference for their project. 

The potential of cork oak forests and the cork sector to create social and ecological value has often been recognized, but until now this value has not been comprehensively estimated. The Catalan Cork Institute Foundation has commissioned the study “Socio-economic and environmental value of the Catalan cork industry” to the MANGO Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility of the ESCI-UPF School of International Business to analyze and calculate in monetary terms the global value created for the Catalan cork sector to the society.

We will discuss their conclusions with leading agents from the forestry, industrial and academic sectors and see how they can be applied to the world of wine.

Live collaborative workshop to boost a wine tourism department profitability. In 45 minutes, together with the attendees we will analyze a real case following Google Design Sprint methodologies.

A group of expert sommeliers with international studies (WSET Diploma and Master of Wine candidates) led by the journalist and sommelier, Sílvia Culell, each select a Catalan wine and, with the tasting, as a starting point, a dialogue is established regarding the context and the current situation and projection of Catalan wine. Where we are and where we are going. The event will have the participation of the General Director of the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine, Alba Balcells.

Artificial intelligence is deploying its full potential, also in the wine sector and in the entire process from the vineyard to the consumer. From precision viticulture, to wine sales, through winery production processes, AI is becoming an essential resource. We will analyze the implementation of AI in the sector and analyze the main applications.

The climate emergency conditions the day-to-day life and future strategies of the wine sector. The options for adaptability to climate change are diverse depending on the priorities, dimensions, location and resources of the wineries. What are the main measures that the sector is working on to face present and future climate challenges? We will learn about practical cases of adaptation to the new climate reality.
