Biography

Oenologist and fifth generation of Familia Torres, she joined the family winery in 1999 to manage the analysis laboratory. She is currently in charge of the research department and the Jean Leon winery.

Family Torres, through their passion for viticulture, has contributed to preserving old vineyards in the territories where they are present, both in Spain and in Chile, giving them a voice through wines that speak of history, culture, and heritage. For this tasting, Mireia Torres and sommelier Sergi Castro have selected 5 expressions of old vines from vineyards they own of different varieties and territories, which are the essence of some of the great wines of this century-old wine family.

International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA), a collective of 50 members (177 individual wineries) from 13 countries, representing 3.5% of global wine production. Each of our members has set the ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and is leading the way towards this goal by regularly measuring greenhouse gas emissions, mobilizing their teams to promote sustainability in their businesses, investing in renewable energy and adapting their agricultural and business practices to reduce their carbon footprint, among other actions.
